How did WELLO effect Peter on his journey?
W - Wind Direction affected Peter only a little bit. The wind really played no role in the route that Peter took.
E - Elevation was a big part of the journey. When Peter traveled to Homer's Mountain at Thanksgiving, the mountain's elevation affected the climate, making the air cooler.
L - Latitude is the GREATEST factor in this book. The journey took Peter at least 2 years to complete. When he started the walk in Alfred, it was already fall, meaning the temperature was alot cooler. But during the whole journey, Peter was travelling South, so he had to go through multiple weather changes.
L - Location really effects the overall climate. Since the story takes place in either wilderness or an open field, weather from water sources dont affect the climate. It all depends on the area that Peter is in. For example, when Peter was in Alfred, the temperature would be pretty cool, because its located further north. But when he is New Orleans, the temperature rises because its further south and the Gulf of Mexico affects the climate.
O - Ocean Currents had no effect on Peter's walk until he was around Alabama and New Orleans where he was right next to the Gulf of Mexico or the Mississippi River. The further south Peter was, the more moist the air was.
